A MusicRadar készített egy szép hosszú interjút Chaddel, amiben dobosunk beszél a Red Hot Chili Peppers jövőjéről, Johnról, a Chickenfootról, a Bombastic Meatról, tehát az összes aktuális érdekességről.
Esztának köszönhetően lesz magyar fordítás, de ehhez még idő kell.
…a banda állapotáról beszélt, most a brit Q Magazine-nak válaszolt az együttessel kapcsolatban:
„Currently on tour with rock supergroup Chickenfoot, Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith spoke exclusively to Q. „No we haven’t split up,” he insists „We’re not playing right now, but shit, man, we played a lot. It was time to take a little break and live your life. We’re not some conveyorbelt”.
However Smith confirmed that: „Everybody’s kind of doing their own thing right now” but Smith claims the band – also including guitarist John Frusciante- are planning to „reconvene at the end of September or October”. ‘We make music when it feels right you cant force people to do stuff. If you’re not feeling it, so why do it? Do other thing and come back to it re-energised”

A People magazin készített egy rövid kis interjút Anthony-val, amiben leginkább Everly-ről beszél. Elmondja milyen aranyos egy gyerek, jó szobatárs, vicces, jó táncos, és minden este 11 órát alszik 🙂
Viszont egy dolgot azért kiemelnék az interjúból, ami a mostani aggasztó hírek után mindenképpen bizakodásra adhat okot:
Next up for Kiedis: „Writing music, rehearsing, surfing and then shooting a pilot of an HBO TV show, Spider and Son,” this summer, he says.

A Guitar World magazin júniusi számának borítóján a Chickenfoot van, a cikkben pedig az együttessel beszélgetnek. Chad hasonlóakat mond, mint a musicradar interjúban, beszél Johnról, illetve arról, hogy visszatérne-e a Red Hot Chili Peppersbe, ha a Chickenfoot befutna. A bennünket érdeklő részlet:
GW: Chad, last we spoke, you said you had a year clear to pursue other things. Yet, when I spoke with John Frusciante recently….
Chad: Oh, how did that go?
GW: It was… interesting.
Chad: He’s an interesting guy (laughs) He’s in his own world.
GW: He did tell me however, that there were „no plans” for the Chili Peppers at all. I took that very literally, as in you guys might not be getting back together.
Chad: The status is that we’ve been on a break for a year and whatever. I can’t speak for John: he’s doing his own thing. I when the Chili Peppers are ready to play, we’ll play. I’m not naming names, i’m just saying we’ll do it again when we want to. We have to feel it. I don’t have a time frame. I thought it was going to be a year off, now it looks like it could be longer. Maybe it’ll be two years, maybe longer.
GW: If Chickenfoot is a smash, would that make going back to the Chili Peppers harder for you?
Chad: Well, I still love playing with those guys, and I have tremendous loyalty to them. But hmmmm, to be in two hit bands at once… Wow, what a choice (laughs).
John múltkori nyilatkozata utáni bizonytalanságot próbálta meg a musicradar egy Chad interjúval eloszlatni, melyben végre tisztázódik a Red Hot Chili Peppers jelenlegi állapota.
Chad elmondása alapján az együttes tagjai már készen állnának újra együtt játszani, kivéve John, akit ugyan a nyilatkozatában nem nevez meg nevén, de aki tud a sorok között olvasni, annak egyértelmű az utalás arra, hogy a gitáros az, aki kilóg a sorból.
Akkor fog az együttes újra játszani, ha mindannyian azt érzik, hogy készek erre.
Az interjú többi részében még beszél a Chickenfoot lemezről, amely várhatóan a tavasz végén jelenik meg, és egy nagyobb turné is tervbe van véve.
