Párizsi olimpia zárórendezvény – Red Hot Chili Peppers

Tegnap este tartották a 2024-es párizsi olimpia zárórendezvényét, ahol Párizs átadta a stafétabotot Los Angelesnek, hiszen 4 év múlva az amerikai város fogja rendezni a sporteseményét. Az átadás keretében a Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish és Snoop Dogg is fellépett Venice Beachen.

Az előadások nem élőben mentek, már 10-én felvették őket, a Red Hot Chili Peppers két dalt is játszott, de csak a Can’t Stopot adták le az ünnepségen, az Eddie-t csak az ottani közönség láthatta. Olvasom tovább >>

Vége az Unlimited Love turnénak

A tegnapi nappal véget ért az Unlimited Love turné, bő két év és 113 koncert után pihenőre megy a Red Hot Chili Peppers. Az eddigi interjúk alapján legközelebb talán 2026-ban láthatjuk őket élőben, reméljük már az új albummal.

Pár érdekesség a turnéról. 4 olyan dal van, amit minden koncerten játszottak, Black Summer, Californication, Give It Away és a By the Way. A legritkább dalok a White Braids & Pillow Chair és az Emit Remmus, mindkettő csak egyszer hangzott el (persze az Emit volt korábbi turnékon), kétszer a One Way Traffic, She’s Only 18 és az If You Have To Ask. Ezek mellett szintén ritkaságnak számított az It’s Only Natura (3), Strip My Mind (5), Fake As F@ck (5) és a She’s a Lover (6). Ahhoz képest, hogy a The Drummernek klipje is volt, csak kilencszer játszotta a zenekar.

A legrégebbi dal a Me & My Friends volt, 16 alkalommal, 26-szor pedig a Nobody Weird Like Me. A One Hot Minute-ot megint csak a Pea képviselte.

Idén minden koncerten szerepelt az Eddie, de a These Are The Ways teljesen kiszorult a setlistből, csupán egyetlen egyszer játszották 2024-ben.

John kedvence a Danny’s Song volt, 19 koncerten énekelte, de azért egyszer volt a Tiny Dancer is, összesen 46 koncerten énekelt szólót John.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Ultimate Fan Guide

Amerikában megjelent egy új magazin a Red Hot Chili Peppersről, tele képekkel, nem csak az aktuális tagokról. Új Speed Dealor Moms lemez

John Frusciante és Aaron Funk újabb közös lemezzel jelentkezik május 10-én, a címe Birth Control Pill. A formáció első kislemeze még 2010-ben jelent meg, amely a bandcampen meghallgatható.

Speed Dealer Moms, the live electronics outlet comprising cross-genre iconoclasts John Frusciante (Trickfinger, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Aaron Funk (Venetian Snares), is over a decade into its idiosyncratic run. On „Birth Control Pill,” only their third release, the boundless potential of the chaotic and elegant project snaps into focus.

If there are virtuosos programming synthesizers and drum machines, then they were in the room when these two tracks were recorded. The epic title cut is perhaps the most „functional” track Funk and Frusciante have released thus far. This is ruffneck dnb business, but it’s also Speed Dealer Moms, so there is the requisite descent into chaos. The track’s precise melodies are unceremoniously dunked into Funk’s signature, ripping breakcore. The drums pick up speed until the crash test dummies hit the wall; a thrilling, extratone breakdown.

More madness lurks on the B-side, „Benakis,” which seemingly nods to the visionary Greek composer. With its unconventional time signature and intricate melodies, this one slides in like a lion and out like a lamb, cycling through breakcore and hard techno before eventually giving the listener a reprieve by way of a dreamy, beatless outro.

Speed Dealer Moms drive their own, crooked road built on friendship and a telepathic musical connection—the collaboration and encouragement of Funk ushered Frusciante into the dense world of hardcore machine funk. The results of these sessions don’t sound quite like anything else but feel spiritually connected to iconoclastic ’90s work by the likes of Bogdan Raczynski or Andrea Parker—punkish electronic records made in fearless pursuit of the new. Funk and Frusciante follow ideas to an illogical endpoint, and this hurtling approach now results in the best, most concise Speed Dealer Moms record yet. The road to wisdom, after all, is paved with excess.

2003. március 22. Hamburg, Németország – A leghosszabb Red Hot Chili Peppers koncert valaha

Megszokhattunk, hogy az utóbbi 20-25 évben a Red Hot Chili Peppers legfeljebb bő egy és háromnegyed órás koncerteket ad, a Californiction turné alatt pedig még rövidebbeket, de ez alól néha van kivétel. Ilyen volt a 2003-as hamburgi koncert is, ahol a záró dal, a Search And Destroy után csatlakozott a zenekarhoz Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta) és Michael Rother, akikkel egy több mint 40 perces záró jamet toltak, így lett két és fél órás az egész koncert.
