Elkészült az első hivatalos Red Hot Chili Peppers könyv! Címe The Red Hot Chili Peppers: An Oral/Visual History. A 256 oldalas könyvet több mint 200 kép fogja majd színesíteni. Megjelenés 2010 október 26, az amazon.com-on már elő is lehet rendelni, ára 40$. Ez lesz az első könyv amit az együttes segítségével írtak meg.
Most már akár hivatalosnak is lehet tekinteni dolgot, a Red Hot Chili Peppers új gitárosa Josh Klinghoffer. Ezt ő maga erősítette meg a régi oldalának szerkesztőjén keresztül. Persze addig semmi sem hivatalos, amíg az együttes oldalán, vagy egyenesen tőlük nem halljuk, de eléggé biztosnak tűnik a dolog.
De ki is ez a Josh Klinghoffer?
A 30 éves gitáros/dobos/szintis/énekes/basszer/zongorista leginkább John Frusciante szóló lemezeiről lehet ismerős, hiszen már hét albumon is segített Johnnak, legutóbb például a The Empyreanon. Emellett 2007-ben követte a Chili-t, és jó pár számba be is segített (This Velvet Glove, Wet Sand, She’s Only 18, stb…) a koncerteken. Ezen kívül ismert sessions-gitáros, sok előadóval dolgozott együtt (PJ Harvey, Bob Forrest, Gnarls Barkley, Tricky, Perry Farrell, Beck), az utolsó projektje a Dot Hacker nevű banda volt.
Jó ideig várnunk kell még, hogy kiderüljön hogyan fog helyt állni Josh a Chili-ben, de addig lehet szemezgetni az eddigi munkáiból, én mindenképpen a The Bicycle Thief – You Come and Go Like a Pop Song albumot ajánlom, egy mestermű.
Így is van még kettő.

Clarification
When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.
To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band, and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer.
I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12 years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my own nature. There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.

Legalább is a Chili számára 2010-ben, ugyanis az első jelölésük alkalmával nem válogatták be őket azon 5 együttes közé, akik 2010-ben bekerülnek a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame-be. Az 5 kiválasztott: ABBA, The Stooges, Genesis, Hollies és Jimmy Cliff….
